Can any type of vehicle be Shipping into Canada?

No, as it is in the United States, the Canadian government has rules and regulations in place stating what kinds of vehicles are allowed into Canada by Vehicle Shipping.

How do I know what vehicles are allowed into Canada from the U.S.?

Simply check with the RIV(Registrar of Imported Vehicles, www.riv.ca) in the appropriate province. The RIV can assist you and give you a list on the types of vehicles that are admissible or inadmissible into Canada. Also research other agencies that may offer answers to the questions on what vehicle may or may not enter into Canada. It goes without saying that you need to make sure you complete this process prior to Vehicle Transport.

What documentation is required to Ship my vehicle into Canada?

At minimum, you need the ORIGINAL title, bill of sale, recall letter, registration and a copy of your passport. It is al so a good idea to check with the the local government to see if any of this has changed.

What if my vehicle does not have a title? Can I still ship my vehicle into Canada?

No, the residing border and customs governing bodies (U.S. Customs and Border Protection) are obviously very strict when releasing a vehicle into Canada. No ORIGINAL vehicle title means no entry into Canada by Car Moving.

Why does U.S. Customs have a say (about what goes into Canada)?

Anything (vehicle or person) that legally exits the borders of the U.S. into Canada, will have to cross through a U.S. borders to get into Canada. Therefore, it makes sense that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection work together to protect the United States and Canada.

Can I ship an inoperable/non-running vehicle?

Yes, we at Vehicle Shipping have experience in shipping inoperable vehicles. Obviously, there will be additional fees included. At a minimum, the vehicle must roll and steer, have a functioning emergency brake, and tires should be properly inflated. We at Vehicle Shipping do not Transport wrecked vehicles of any kind.

How long will it take to Moving a vehicle from the U.S. to Canada?

A good rule of thumb is 10 to 14 days. However, several variables exist such as like road conditions, weather,potential border issues and customers’ availability that may have a negative impact on the transit time.

How long is a Transport quoted good for?

The shipping quotes from Vehicle Shipping are figured and based on fuel and demand. The quote that is given to you is good for seven business days. But, Vehicle Shipping, reserves the right to adjust any and all quotes.

What if the truck can’t get to my location for pick up of my vehicle?

The driver will try to get as close to you door as is safe and legal. Cities may have restrictions on trucks that possibly prohibit them from driving into certain residential areas. Transport truck can be as long as 75 feet in length and weigh in excess of 78,000 pounds. They are intentionally build low to the ground and need lots of space to maneuver and turn around. If you think your home may be in a restricted area or the streets are narrow with low-hanging trees, speed bumps or tight turns, the driver may request that you meet the truck at a different destination, like a shopping center or major street crossing.

What will it cost to Auto Moving from U.S. to Canada?

Like most services, prices are determined on vehicle size, age, mileage and pick-up and delivery dates and location.

What type of payment are accepted?

Vehicle Shipping only accepts wire transfers for international shipping (Canada is considered international).

Can I put any personal items in my car?

No, we at Vehicle Shipping only ship vehicles. As you might imagine, personal items can cause Custom's and Border nightmares for drivers!

Does my vehicle need to carry insurance when in transit?

Yes. Obviously,the truck is required to carry insurance but any damage and repairs are are subject to a contracted deductible. Therefore, you still need personal insurance on the automobile incase there are damages to the car which was not directly caused by Vehicle Shipping.

Can my vehicle be delivered door to door into Canada?

Yes, it is possible to have your vehicle delivery to your do, but you need a customs broker to clear all necessary paperwork and sent to the border crossing with the RIV and GST taxes paid on the vehicle prior to crossing the Canadian. We can refer you to a proven Canada customs broker. There will be a cost associated. This can cost and extra $100.00-150.00 (Canadian money).
